About Us

Second Chance And Reentry Services was named after the federal government’s Second Chance Act which supports the efforts of state, local, tribal and nonprofit organizations in their work to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for offenders who are returning from jail, prison and juvenile facilities. ‘Reentry’ is the term given to incarcerated individuals who are transitioning back to their community.

Our purposeful acronym, SCARS, brings attention to the physical and emotional scars endured by each adult and child who suffer from the effects of trauma, family dysfunction, substance abuse, or other behavioral health conditions.

SCARS offers court-ordered assessments, educational classes, individual and family therapy, and clinical treatment programs to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.

We employ Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (LMFT), and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW). Our therapists have extensive knowledge and training and a wide range of personal experiences. They are willing to provide the guidance and support you need to navigate and overcome any obstacle in your life.

Linda Compton, LPC, LADC, founded and incorporated Second Chance And Reentry Services, Inc. (SCARS) as a charitable organization in the State of Oklahoma on April 21, 2009. SCARS received its 501(c)3 letter from the Internal Revenue Service on August 31, 2011 approving us as a nonprofit organization.  We began providing services in El Reno, Oklahoma in January 2012 and opened a second office in Mustang, Oklahoma in 2015.
